Country

Bahrain

Bahrain's kiting comes down to Amwaj Island, a man-made lagoon east of Muharraq protected by an offshore breakwater, close enough to the airport for a session between flights.

The water is flat and shallow, which makes it a freestyle spot rather than a wave one. The season runs in three short windows - January-February, June-July, November-December - rather than one continuous stretch. It suits Gulf-based riders and stopover kiters more than anyone planning a dedicated trip.

The Bahrain country guide — entry rules, money, driving and local kite rules — is not written yet.

When to go

month by month, from the towns' own wind series

No month-by-month figure for this country

None of its places carries a wind series this page can read, so there is no monthly share to draw.

Which place is yours

the most spots first

Single spots with no town of their own

The cards are in the order of how many spots each place holds. None of them carries a wind score: the atlas scores wind reliability one spot at a time, against a named weather station and the distance to it, and a place that groups several spots has no single station to stand behind one number. The month calendar above is what this page can say about the wind.

The same places as the cards above, by name, in the order this country guide lists them rather than the biggest first.
