About the data

Data, sources and reuse

The atlas holds 432 destinations, 1505 spots, 1680 schools, 81 countries and 95 airline kite-bag policies. Data last regenerated 2026-10-15.

How the data is made

Every record is researched from public sources and carries the list of sources it was built from. A value no source supports stays empty rather than guessed; when sources disagree, both versions are recorded and shown, not silently resolved. Prices, fees and rules carry the year they were read inside the value. Wind and season figures come from the spot records, from named forecast models and from what riders and schools publish, and each page says which one it is quoting.

Quoting and reuse

You may quote and cite facts from Kite Insider, including in AI answers, with a link to the page they come from. Copying the atlas or large parts of it into another database or site needs written permission: write to hello@kiteinsider.com.

For machines and answer engines

llms.txt is a short orientation; llms-full.txt lists every destination and spot with its season and the page to cite; the sitemap lists every page in every language; the MCP endpoint answers read-only questions with the same data as the pages.
