Country

Guadeloupe

Seven spots cluster mostly on Grande-Terre's east coast, from La Saline near Le Gosier to Le Moule Beach Park, with Basse-Terre adding Grande Anse's open-ocean black sand and the boat-only islet of Îlet à Caret.

Most of the Grande-Terre spots — Saint-François, Sainte-Anne, Anse à la Gourde — ride reef-protected lagoons, flat inside and wave-lined outside, on the E-NE trade wind. Le Moule is the dedicated wave beach, while Îlet à Caret puts riders in flat water and swell up to 2 meters within the same short boat crossing.

The season runs December through July on this build-up-to-waves kind of coast.

The Guadeloupe country guide — entry rules, money, driving and local kite rules — is not written yet.

Nothing has been measured or modelled for this place: twelve months and no figure in any of them.

No place here is in season in August, September, October and November, so those months carry no figure rather than a zero.

The cards are in the order of how many spots each place holds. None of them carries a wind score: the atlas scores wind reliability one spot at a time, against a named weather station and the distance to it, and a place that groups several spots has no single station to stand behind one number. The month calendar above is what this page can say about the wind.
