Country
Guatemala
Pacific coast and highland lakes split Guatemala's three listed spots.
Sipacate, on the Pacific in Escuintla, is the wave option — a big sandy beach with clean medium-to-big surf, best at high tide from January-February and October-December.
Inland, Lago de Amatitlán near Guatemala City offers flat freshwater on a southwest wind, though the water itself is noted as polluted, while Isla de los Gatos on Lake Atitlán is a boat-only, no-beach island spot with choppy water for riders who don't need sand underfoot. It's a small, geographically split scene rather than a single destination.
The Guatemala country guide — entry rules, money, driving and local kite rules — is not written yet.
When to go
month by month, from the towns' own wind series
No month-by-month figure for this country
None of its places carries a wind series this page can read, so there is no monthly share to draw.
Which place is yours
the most spots first
Single spots with no town of their own
The cards are in the order of how many spots each place holds. None of them carries a wind score: the atlas scores wind reliability one spot at a time, against a named weather station and the distance to it, and a place that groups several spots has no single station to stand behind one number. The month calendar above is what this page can say about the wind.
The same places as the cards above, by name, in the order this country guide lists them rather than the biggest first.
