Country
Martinique
One spot carries the whole Martinique scene: Pointe Faula, at Le Vauclin on the island's southeast Atlantic coast.
A coral barrier reef walls off a warm, shallow lagoon, flat over the inner sandbanks and choppier reef-and-wave riding once you push past the bank. The season runs December through June, the long stretch of the island's trade-wind months. It's a single-destination trip by default, suited to riders happy to base themselves at one lagoon rather than island-hop the Caribbean.
The Martinique country guide — entry rules, money, driving and local kite rules — is not written yet.
When to go
month by month, from the towns' own wind series
No month-by-month figure for this country
None of its places carries a wind series this page can read, so there is no monthly share to draw.
Which place is yours
the most spots first
Single spots with no town of their own
The cards are in the order of how many spots each place holds. None of them carries a wind score: the atlas scores wind reliability one spot at a time, against a named weather station and the distance to it, and a place that groups several spots has no single station to stand behind one number. The month calendar above is what this page can say about the wind.
The same places as the cards above, by name, in the order this country guide lists them rather than the biggest first.
