Country

Romania

One spot carries all of Romania's kitesurfing: Mamaia Beach, on the Black Sea coast north of Constanța, where active schools run out of the Mamaia and Mamaia Nord resort strip.

The riding is open sea off a sandy beach rather than lagoon water, so expect small chop and summer beach traffic instead of flat conditions. The season runs May through September. It's a straightforward, single-base trip that suits riders happy to share the water with a resort crowd rather than those chasing a dedicated kite scene.

The Romania country guide — entry rules, money, driving and local kite rules — is not written yet.

When to go

month by month, from the towns' own wind series

No month-by-month figure for this country

None of its places carries a wind series this page can read, so there is no monthly share to draw.

Which place is yours

the most spots first

Single spots with no town of their own

The cards are in the order of how many spots each place holds. None of them carries a wind score: the atlas scores wind reliability one spot at a time, against a named weather station and the distance to it, and a place that groups several spots has no single station to stand behind one number. The month calendar above is what this page can say about the wind.

The same places as the cards above, by name, in the order this country guide lists them rather than the biggest first.
