Kitesurfing in Atlántico

3 spots · 1 destination · 3 schools

Atlántico's trade season, December through April, splits between two contrasting setups.

Salinas del Rey is the region's headline point break, having hosted GKA Kite World Tour stops in 2022 and 2023, but rocks, deep water and no rescue boat push beginners toward Puerto Velero instead, where a sheltered bay gives flat shallow water for lessons alongside an exposed wave-riding side.

Atlántico holds 3 kitesurf spots in our atlas, grouped into 1 destination. The season runs January to April. 1 of them suits beginners. 3 schools operate in the region. The busiest areas are Santa Verónica.
