Vitsand, on the east coast near Slite, is an ocean spot with shallow, choppy water and small waves that turns on in northeasterly to southeasterly wind, filling the gap when the island's west side goes quiet. Vivesholm, near Klintehamn, has no beach at all - riders rig on grass and step over pebbles into flat bay water on southerly to westerly wind.
