- On the lagoon the launch used sits on the north shore just south of Marina di Lesina, and the winds that make it work are S, SW and W, arriving onshore to cross-onshore with the far bank a couple of kilometres downwind.
- The Adriatic beach faces roughly north-northeast, so Maestrale from the NW is cross-shore there, Tramontana and Grecale from N and NE are onshore, and the southerlies that suit the lagoon blow straight off the land.
- The sea-beach angles are read off the lie of the coast, not from a local measurement.
