What it costs and what fits
- Fee
- PHP 2,000 (domestic), PHP 3,500 (international short-haul), PHP 5,000 (international long-haul) (2026) when the 'CEB Surfboard' add-on is pre-purchased via the mobile app.
- The add-on is required for boards (the regular checked allowance cannot be used);
- weight over 20kg is charged as excess baggage.
- Max weight
- 20 kg
- Max length
- 183 (6ft) standard, up to 274 (9ft) on Airbus jets, 183 (6ft) max on ATR cm
- Pieces
- 1 board per guest; up to 5 boards per Airbus/jet flight, up to 2 boards per ATR flight
- Pre-booking
- Pre-booking required
- Booked ahead
- Yes - pre-purchasing via the app avoids the higher pay-at-airport excess-baggage rate and secures one of the limited per-flight slots
- Small aircraft
- ATR (flight numbers prefixed DG) turboprops cap boards at 6ft length and only 2 boards per flight, versus 9ft/5 boards on Airbus jets (5J) - travellers are advised only 5J-numbered flights reliably allow pre-booking sports equipment.
- Filed as
- Sports Equipment / Surfboard-Wakeboard category.
- Cebu Pacific's help-center article names 'Surfboards/Wakeboards' plus general surfing equipment (leashes, fins);
- kiteboards are not separately named, so a kite board would need to be booked under the Surfboard/Wakeboard sports-equipment tier.
- Home region
- Philippines
- domestic PHP 2,000 pre-booked (2026)
- international - short haul PHP 3,500 pre-booked (2026)
- international - long haul PHP 5,000 pre-booked (2026)

Before you pack
3 points
- Book the CEB Sports Equipment add-on in the app up to 2 hours before departure - it cannot be bought at the counter without risking the higher walk-up excess rate
- Check whether your specific flight is Airbus (5J) or ATR (DG) operated - ATR legs cap boards at 6ft and only 2 per flight, so a 9ft board or being the 3rd+ passenger with gear on an ATR flight can mean the board gets bumped
- Keep board + case at or under 20kg - this is a hard per-piece cap, not a total-allowance figure
What riders report at the counter
2 reports
- On the Manila-Boracay (Caticlan) route, only Cebu Pacific flight numbers starting with '5J' let you pre-book sport equipment, and check-in staff are sometimes unfamiliar with the sports-baggage rules — screenshot the policy and take staff names and details if a dispute starts.
- An older report from 2011: a reasonable rate for a Deceiver kitebag outbound Manila-Caticlan, then 3-4x more on the return leg. Enforcement differs between sectors of the same trip.
