Before you pack

3 points

  1. Pre-advise EVA Air at booking that you are bringing a kiteboard/kites/lines - this is stated as a requirement, not a suggestion
  2. Pack kites/lines and board together into a single concertina-style bag to stay within the sporting-equipment allowance rather than being treated as an oversized general bag (which triggers the USD 100/USD 300 oversize fees)
  3. Anything not on the named sporting-equipment table is treated as normal baggage - if in doubt, ask EVA Air to confirm your item is on the list before flying

What riders report at the counter

2 reports

  • EVA Air's own sporting-equipment page explicitly names kiteboard + kites + lines as an accepted combination, which is rare — most carriers leave kites unlisted — but pre-advising EVA Air at time of booking is required
  • Separately, EVA Air's oversize/excess-baggage schedule shows: a 23kg bag between 158-203cm length costs USD 100 — a 23kg bag over 203cm costs USD 300 — these apply if a kite/board bag exceeds the sporting-equipment table's dimensions
