Before you pack

4 points

  1. Book the surf/kite board online well in advance - airport pricing is roughly double
  2. Keep the packed board/kite bag under 3.5m in length
  3. Only one piece of surf/kite equipment is accepted per passenger and is subject to cargo space, so book early on popular routes
  4. Be aware of the newer 'irregular shape' surcharge which can apply on top of the sports equipment fee if the bag isn't a standard rectangular shape

What riders report at the counter

  • From 28 January 2026 Iberia charges a separate surcharge of EUR 35-125 for any checked item with an 'irregular' (non-rectangular) shape, on top of the existing special/sports equipment fees
