Country

Belize

Two islands carry Belize's kite scene, both riding inside the shelter of the Belize Barrier Reef rather than open ocean.

The Split at Caye Caulker sits near the Lazy Lizard, a shallow, clear lagoon with flat water and some chop; Boca del Rio and San Pedro on Ambergris Caye work the same reef-protected setup with broad flat-to-choppy water suited to beginners.

Trade winds from the northeast through southeast run side-onshore across both islands, with the season stretching November into May or later. It's a reef-lagoon pairing for riders who want easy, protected water on a Caribbean island trip.

The Belize country guide — entry rules, money, driving and local kite rules — is not written yet.

Nothing has been measured or modelled for this place: twelve months and no figure in any of them.

No place here is in season in August, September and October, so those months carry no figure rather than a zero.

Which place is yours

the most spots first

The cards are in the order of how many spots each place holds. None of them carries a wind score: the atlas scores wind reliability one spot at a time, against a named weather station and the distance to it, and a place that groups several spots has no single station to stand behind one number. The month calendar above is what this page can say about the wind.
