Kitesurfing in Piauí

3 spots · 1 destination · 10 schools

Piauí's single listed spot, Praia do Coqueiro on the Luís Correia coast, is a working tourist beach with restaurants on the sand and a coral barrier that surfaces at low tide.

Side-onshore trade wind runs July through December, throwing up waves at high tide and exposing sandbanks at low — conditions that favor intermediate and advanced riders over a documented beginner zone.

Piauí holds 3 kitesurf spots in our atlas, grouped into 1 destination. Riding here is mostly lagoons. The season runs July to December. 2 of them suits beginners. 10 schools operate in the region. The busiest areas are Barra Grande.
