Kitesurfing in Bolívar

2 spots · 1 destination · 6 schools

Cartagena's kite scene runs through one beach: La Boquilla, a fishing village north of the old town where northeast trade winds build through late morning and hold side-onshore into the afternoon, December through April.

The inshore shallows stay calm enough for lessons out of the beachside schools, while the chop further out draws freestyle, foil and wakestyle riders.

Bolívar holds 2 kitesurf spots in our atlas, grouped into 1 destination. Riding here is mostly chop. The season runs January to April. Every spot suits beginners. 6 schools operate in the region. The busiest areas are Cartagena.
