Jomtien / Na Jomtien Beach has no other spot on this map within 40 km of it. straight-line distance

Jomtien and Na Jomtien are the Pattaya-area kite beaches: west-facing sand, flat-to-choppy water, and long shallow stretches good for a first waterstart or a foil session. The wind is not one clean season.
NW runs November-March, SW takes over April-June, and July-August goes onshore and stronger at 18-25 knots; the afternoon thermal from late November to February is the most dependable of them. October is the dead month. The launch area is small, so this is a managed school beach rather than an open strip.
KBA Pattaya sits at Blue Lagoon on Soi Tanmanjai 14 in Na Jomtien, with Clubloongchat close by, and if the sand is full you water-launch. Jet-skis and tour boats work the same beach outside the kite zone; the beach is reportedly reserved for wind-powered activity, but no bylaw text has surfaced to say where that zone starts and stops.
Come November to March, and pack light-wind gear: 15 knots is a normal day here, not a bad one.

modelled

A weather model's cell over this place, not a station on it. Good for comparing places, weaker for one beach.

Modelled from the operational forecast archive at 1.5–7 km (2023-2024), daylight hours only, not a ground station: it resolves thermal, lake and valley winds far better than coarse reanalysis but still tends to understate a strong local thermal. A windy day has at least three consecutive daylight hours at 12 knots or more. The typical daily max and the direction are columns of the table above, month by month. Highlighted months are the riding season from the spot record.

Rescue

No kite rescue boat is published for the launch. Pattaya city lifeguards work the Jomtien beachfront from fixed towers and patrol the sand by ATV from 09:00 to 18:00, but that stretch is north of the Na Jomtien kite schools, which sit in Sattahip, and cover down there is unconfirmed.
Schools supervise their own lessons and sell supervised rental days, which is what a visiting rider can actually count on. Emergency numbers: 1669 ambulance, 191 police, 1155 tourist police.

Hazards riders report 7

  • shared beach with heavy general tourist/watersports traffic (jet-skis, boats)
  • small launch area
  • winter NE flow is reportedly side to side-offshore
  • urban/tourist beach environment with general watersports nearby outside the kite-specific zone
  • exact current behavior unconfirmed
  • moon jellyfish come in on the Jomtien beaches in the late rainy season and early winter, and around storms; not dangerous, but they itch, and vinegar is the local rinse
  • no rescue cover is published for the Na Jomtien launch itself; the municipal lifeguard stretch is further north
Rules & access
2026: Jomtien beach is reportedly motorsport-free and reserved for wind-powered activity, but no municipal bylaw text was found to verify the scope or the enforcement.

Access rules drift faster than anything else we hold — check locally, and propose an edit if this has changed.

Rider tips

  • Ask the school which direction is running before you rig; the winter NE is reportedly side to side-offshore.
  • Water-launch when the sand is full, and stay inside the school zone.
  • Bring a foil or your biggest kite: 8-12 m covers most days and 15 knots is typical November-March.
  • Skip October. It is the one weak month of the year here.
