- Message Kunduchi Kite School before you fly. Beach access, lessons and rental all go through them, and none of it is confirmed outside their own listings.
- Ask on the day which tide stage opens the flat water and where the sandbars have moved to.
- Assume no boat rescue unless the school or the hotel confirms cover.
- Budget up to 90 minutes from DAR for the 35 km. Dar es Salaam traffic decides the transfer, not the distance.
- After heavy rain, look at the water before you rig; runoff quality here was flagged once and never checked again.
