Longmen Beach
Longmen is Penghu's premier wave-kiting spot, a kilometre-wide shingle-and-sand bay on the east coast of the main island that lights up when the winter NE monsoon blows over 30 knots. It offers everything from choppy chest-high wind swell to genuine 3-5m frontside waves in the southern part of the bay, making it a strong-wind specialist's spot with real jumping and wave-riding terrain rarely found elsewhere in Asia.

Tips
- aim for 1 hour after high tide for the best wave shape
- the long wave break with the best riding is in the southern part of the bay - you kite across the bay to reach it
- the north end stays choppier and is better avoided when swell is up
- Sunrise B&B in Guoye village, ~1km from the spot, is run by kitesurfers and offers airport pickup and bikes
