Lady's Mile, a 5km sandy run on the Akrotiri peninsula, anchors Limassol with shallow flat water and city amenities close by; Curium and Akrotiri's Shipwreck Bay add wave riding for intermediate-plus riders wanting swell over flat water.

Larnaca's Kiti-Mazotos strip, government-licensed since 2008, and Ayia Napa's Makronissos Beach split the eastern side between established schools and resort-town energy.

It works for a wide range - Mackenzie Beach's KiteMed lagoon for beginners, Curium's cliffside break for riders who want more.

Where records disagree

  • ETIAS launch timing: one Cyprus-focused source (cyprusvisa.co.uk, 2026) states ETIAS is expected to go live 'last quarter of 2026' for Cyprus/Schengen-adjacent travel; a separate Denmark-focused source (schengentraveler/2026 update) states the EU removed the Q4 2026 target in July 2026 and '2027 is now the most likely launch year.' Both cannot be right - treat ETIAS timing as unresolved at research time (Aug 2026).
