Lady's Mile runs down the east side of the Akrotiri peninsula just south of Limassol, and what it sells is space: about 5 km of beach, a long sandy launch and shallow flat water.
Paramali and Avdimou are two beaches a few kilometres apart on the west side of Limassol, in or beside the British Sovereign Base Area, and they get lumped together because the same Limassol schools work both.
Akrotiri Shipwreck is the wave side of the Akrotiri peninsula, southwest of the salt lake inside the British Sovereign Base Area, and nothing like Lady's Mile on the east side.
Curium is the wave option west of Limassol: an exposed sand-and-pebble beach under the Kourion cliffs, also signed Kourion Beach, with chop and small waves in summer and bigger, messier water in winter.
Pissouri Bay sits below Pissouri village on the south coast of Cyprus, between Paphos and Limassol, and the bay itself is enclosed: flat water and chop inside, bigger swell and more wind once you ride out of it.

Kiteable onshore wind runs roughly November to April; outside that window the thermal, afternoon-driven wind tends to blow offshore.
Is Limassol suitable for beginners?
Lady's Mile is the beginner-friendly option, with a roughly 5km sandy beach and long, shallow flat water. Spots like Akrotiri Shipwreck and Curium Beach are more wave-oriented and intermediate-plus.
Do I need a car?
A car is useful, since Lady's Mile and Paramali/Avdimou are a drive from the city; rental cars are affordable at around $50 a day.
Where should I base myself?
Limassol city gives restaurants, nightlife and easy driving access to Lady's Mile. Basing in Akrotiri instead trades that nightlife for being closer to the beach itself.
