Kampot Province, Kampot coast
Kampot is Cambodia's chilled riverside town - pepper farms, sunset river cruises, a lively but low-key night market - with the Kep Thmey kite spot 8km outside town looking across the water toward Phu Quoc island. It suits kiters who want a genuine, laid-back small-town base with real food and culture rather than a beach-party scene, and who don't mind a short daily commute to the water.

How it scores for you
Persona presets weight the scores below for one kind of rider. Each carries the weakest confidence among its parts — never an average that hides a gap.
score-spec v1 (shrunk to coverage) — a score built on little evidence is pulled toward the middle rather than shown as a confident extreme. Hover a tile for its confidence.

What nobody tells you first
- Kep Thmey is 8km outside Kampot town, so factor in the daily commute when picking accommodation
- Nightlife is genuinely low-key - don't expect a party town here (that's Otres/Sihanoukville)

Itinerary idea
Pairs naturally with Kep (crab, quiet beaches) as a slow 4-6 day cultural-and-kite stop, or as the calmer bookend to a livelier Otres/Sihanoukville beach stretch.
