Hinnavaru next door is a real local island (2,286 residents, 2022 census) with good Ooredoo and Dhiraagu coverage, sharing the same lagoon and reef system by boat, under standard conservative local-island rules (no alcohol, modest dress). Health truth: Lhaviyani Atoll Hospital in Naifaru is the only medical facility for the wider atoll, and Kuredu also has an on-site medical centre plus a hyperbaric chamber run by its Prodivers dive centre, useful if you are combining kiting with diving.
