Tannum Sands Beach is Queensland's single listed spot, the main wind-sports beach for the Gladstone area some 25-30 km southeast of the city.

Main Beach runs warm-water freeride and chop through a September-to-March season, with the nearby Boyne River Mouth offering flatter water for riders who want to skip the direct onshore NE swell.
