Kitesurfing in Marrakech-Safi
6 spots · 3 destinations · 20 schools
Six spots on the Essaouira coast, from town-beach chop to reef waves nobody should ride alone.
Essaouira Bay is where the schools sit: the Alizé, locally the Charkhi, is light before mid-morning and 25-35 knots on a peak summer afternoon. The Ksob river-mouth lagoon at Diabat is the one flat pocket. It rides from mid tide up, and near low water it disappears. South, Sidi Kaouki has a punchy beachbreak over sandbanks that move, and La Grotte holds a right-hander on Cap Sim you reach by dirt track. North at Moulay Bouzerktoun a rock slab throws another right, and the lineup knows where the takeoff is.
Marrakech-Safi holds 6 kitesurf spots in our atlas, grouped into 3 destinations. Riding here is mostly waves and lagoons. Something is rideable here in every month of the year. 2 of them suits beginners. 20 schools operate in the region. The busiest areas are Essaouira.

Each block is the opening of the record's own rule, kept in its own words. Where two postings do not line up, both are kept and neither is picked for you.
