North Holland runs the length of Texel and the mainland coast, from the advanced-only Vuurtoren point at De Cocksdorp to the zoned beginner pier at IJmuiden Zone 1 and the year-round wave beach at Petten.
Inland, Muiderberg's flat standing-depth water near Amsterdam and Medemblik's Nesbos on the IJsselmeer cover the lesson trade the North Sea beaches can't. Eight spots, most zoned and current-warned rather than casual walk-up.

De Koog (Paal 17)Texel20262026: high-speed beach sports are allowed on the Texel sport beach zones between strandpaal 17.60-18.99 and 28.20-32, keeping at least 50 m from the hard sea defence near the lighthouse.
Wijk aan ZeeWijk aan Zee2026has a date window2026 check: kitesurfing at Strand Noordpier Velsen-Noord is allowed only in Zone 2, and the zone starts at a large pole just north of Aloha and de HangOut. Zone 1, beside the pier, is for swimmers and surfers.
ZandvoortZandvoort2026has a date window2026: from 15 April to 1 October you launch and land only through the designated fast-watersport passages and zones; from 1 October to 15 April there are no seasonal launch restrictions on non-motorized watersports.
De CocksdorpTexel20262026: no spot-specific kite rule at Vuurtoren beyond asking the locals, and the sandy launch zone between the beach posts is open all year. Texel Noord-oost is prohibited all year.
