Medemblik (Nesbos)
Medemblik's official kite beach, 'Kitestrandje Nesbos', is a legally designated zone on the IJsselmeer in West-Friesland, reachable by bus from Hoorn. It is shallow and grassy-banked, suitable for beginners through advanced foilers, but is only open April through September under a bird-protection closure the rest of the year. Rigging space is limited and a marked buoy zone keeps riders clear of vegetation and the swim area.
