Cabedelo, across the Lima estuary from town, is the one that matters: the northern end hides behind the harbour wall and goes flat for schools, freestyle and foil, and the walk south toward Rodanho puts Atlantic swell over sand. It averages 25 knots between 12:00 and 18:00. Afife north of town is the fallback, wide sand with rocky outcrops near the water line. Moledo up at Caminha is wave water with a shorebreak that moves in on the rising tide.
