Holbox Island (Las Nubes)

Holbox is a car-free island off the northern tip of Quintana Roo, separated from the mainland by about 10km of shallow lagoon. Las Nubes is the main kite beach, but riders shuttle between different beaches around the island to match whichever direction the wind is blowing, giving the spot unusually wide reliability. Shallow, warm water and a wide obstacle-free shoreline make it one of the more forgiving beginner beaches in Mexico, while stronger north or south wind days deliver good conditions for advanced riders too.
