Durban is a proper city break bolted onto a kite trip - warm Indian Ocean water, iconic bunny chow curries, and a real urban buzz, but one that comes with normal big-city street-smarts about where you walk after dark.
It suits riders who want city life, curry culture and easy day trips into Zulu KwaZulu-Natal alongside their sessions, with Umhlanga and uMdloti as calmer, more upmarket bases just up the coast.
