Knokke-Heist is not one launch but a chain of managed beach-club zones along the North Sea, around Heist, Duinbergen, Het Zoute and the Zwin end.
Blankenberge is a resort beach on the North Sea with a 350 m pier in the middle of it and one surf zone listed by IKWV, so you ride where the beach club puts you.
Zeebrugge kiting happens in one place: the marked launch zone in front of Club North by Icarus at Zeedijk 50, and nowhere else on the beach.

What is the water and wind like at Knokke-Heist?
Riding is mostly chop and small wind waves on a wide sandy tidal beach, with stronger-wind days producing 1-2m surf for a more serious session.
Are there other kite spots nearby?
Yes - Blankenberge and Zeebrugge are both established beach-club kite zones along the same stretch of Belgian coast, reachable as part of the same trip.
Where should I stay?
Staying near La Réserve puts you a five-minute walk from the beach and its water-sports clubs, while town-center B&Bs like Grain de Sable offer a more boutique option.
Is Knokke-Heist an expensive base?
It's priced mid-to-high, generally the most expensive of the Belgian coast kite towns.
