Kitesurfing in Bali
4 spots · 2 destinations · 6 schools
Canggu is really the reef break at Batu Bolong, Old Man's and Echo Beach, not a lesson beach.
Wind is gusty and often offshore, mixed with rocks, current and a crowded surf lineup, which makes it expert-only riding through the June-September window. Intermediate riders are better off at Sanur or Nusa Dua; this one needs wave-kiting experience and self-sufficient rescue.
Bali holds 4 kitesurf spots in our atlas, grouped into 2 destinations. Riding here is mostly waves and flat water. The season runs May to October. 2 of them suits beginners. 6 schools operate in the region. The busiest areas are Bali - Sanur.

Canggu (Echo/Batu Bolong)Bali - Canggu20262026: riding zones exist at Canggu, and kiting at Pererenan is discouraged because it is a surfer spot. No official Badung or banjar kitesurf permit or zoning document was found online.
Tabuhan Island / BanyuwangiBali - Tabuhan/Banyuwangi20262026: no particular kite rules are known, so talk to someone local before you ride. Entry, boat and tour fees apply to reach Tabuhan from Bangsring, and no kite-specific permit or official riding-zone rule is known.
Each block is the opening of the record's own rule, kept in its own words. Where two postings do not line up, both are kept and neither is picked for you.
