the rules these spots carry, with the year on each
Diani Beach (Kenyaways)Diani20262026: no kite permit, formal launch zoning or seasonal kitesurf restriction is published for Diani, and kiting is generally unrestricted along the beach; the busy public-access stretch near Carrefour and Tradewinds Road is best avoided at weekends when non-kiters fill it.
Galu BeachDiani19951995: the reef in front of Diani and Galu was gazetted as the Diani-Chale Marine National Reserve, but the notice was never implemented - as of April 2024 it had sat on paper for 29 years while the government proposed handing management to the Kenya Wildlife Service, which would bring permits for commercial activities such as boat tours.
Each block is the opening of the record's own rule, kept in its own words. Where two postings do not line up, both are kept and neither is picked for you.
