Diani Beach (Kenyaways)
Diani's 13-17km white-sand beach south of Mombasa is East Africa's biggest kite hub, with a shallow reef-protected lagoon running almost the entire length of the coast and more than half a dozen schools clustered around the Kenyaways/Galu stretch. Two distinct monsoon seasons give it wind roughly nine months of the year, from glassy flat-water sessions to head-high reef waves.

Tips

- Check tide tables before choosing a launch zone - some reef gaps go unrideable at low spring tide
