Ponta do Ouro is easier to reach since the Maputo-Katembe road improved, with chop, small-to-medium waves and flatter water inside the point once the tide sets up. Ponta Mamoli, north of Ponta Malongane, is the quieter open-beach option, closer to the former Ponta do Ouro marine reserve and lighter on services.
