Ngwe Saung is the region's only real kite venue — Ngwe Saung Yacht Club Resort runs lessons and hosted the 2015 Myanmar Wave Riders Cup, with the season running Jan-Feb and Oct-Dec.

Chaung Tha further north is a crowded package-beach with watersport rentals, not a dedicated kite operation. Both sit on mixed Bay of Bengal water, roughly 5-7 hours by road from Yangon.
