520 Slick on the Banana River is the flat-water counterpoint to this stretch of Atlantic Florida: causeway-blocked chop, north wind offshore, mangrove launches.
Jetty Park, Matanzas Inlet and Huguenot Memorial Park work the ocean side instead, jetty and inlet current setting up current-against-wind flat patches inside and real surf outside. The season is winter into spring, November through May.
