Anomabo Beach

also known as Anomabu

waves

Anomabo Beach has no other spot on this map within 40 km of it. straight-line distance

Anomabo sits on the coast of Ghana's Central Region, about 12 km east of Cape Coast, under the walls of Fort William, the old Anomabu Castle from the Atlantic trade era.
The beach in front of the town is a working fishing beach before it is anything else: canoes and nets go out through the surf all day, and the surf is medium rather than gentle.
Nobody has published wind figures, a season or a water temperature for kiting here, so treat this as a spot to go and look at, not one to book a week around. It reads as intermediate ground: waves, a shoreline with rocky sections near the fort, and nobody on site to sort out a launch for you.
Beginners should skip it. The heritage trade around Fort William and Cape Coast Castle has left a small resort and guesthouse scene, which is more than most of this stretch of coast has. Bring your own gear.

modelled

A weather model's cell over this place, not a station on it. Good for comparing places, weaker for one beach.

Modelled from weather reanalysis on a 10–25 km grid (2020-2024), not a ground station: reliable for trade and synoptic winds, understates thermal sea breezes and valley winds. The typical daily max and the direction are columns of the table above, month by month. Highlighted months are the riding season from the spot record.
