Atlantic and semidiurnal: four changes a day and a range that matters.Neap days swing about 1.7 m; springs run 3.0-3.2 m, with lows dropping to zero or a few centimetres below and highs above 3 m.Low water uncovers more sand and leaves the reef and the rock that much closer to the surface, so walk the entry each session instead of trusting yesterday's line.

- Launch from the very north tip of the beach rather than the middle of the busiest urban sand.
- Treat N and NE as straight onshore here and keep more downwind margin than you would at a sideshore spot.
- Walk the entry and look for rock and reef before you get wet.
- Wear a full suit outside the warmest weeks, and a 3/2 or 4/3 in February.
- Check the tide before you commit: springs move about 3 m and the reef is a different animal at low water.
- Downwind of the launch is a built seafront. That is what killed a rider here, so treat the hotel line as the hazard it is.

Airport
Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport (CMN)
Route
Drive southwest from Casablanca to El Jadida on the A5 and the coast road, park near the beach and walk in. Rail and bus link Casablanca and El Jadida, but an airport trip needs a connection.
Transfer
75-120 minutes by car from Casablanca Mohammed V, depending on route and traffic. Quoted driving times run about 1h14 from El Jadida to CMN and about 1h21 from CMN to El Jadida.
