That reservoir is the outlier - flat morning water under bare mountains, running October to April on near-guaranteed thermal wind - while the coastal spots work the November-March summer trades. It suits riders chasing either Patagonian wind on the ocean or dead-flat freshwater with mountain views, not a single resort base.

Where records disagree
- Older kite-trip reports commonly advise bringing cash USD to exploit the 'blue dollar' parallel-market premium over the official rate. As of July 2026, sources report this gap has narrowed to under 2% (official ~1520, blue ~1545, MEP ~1533 ARS/USD), meaning the historical blue-dollar cash advantage is largely gone and a no-foreign-fee card is now reported as equally good or better than cash, without the safety risk of carrying dollars. Trip reports written before 2025 should be treated as outdated on this point.
