Big sandy Atlantic launches all along Necochea and Quequen. The usual ones are the termo-electrica, in front of Hogar Raimondi, Kabryl, and the run from the Necochea escollera down to Sahara for a downwinder; which one depends on the wind of the day.

Rider tips
- Message a school (Kite Necochea or Necotxea) the day before; the working launch shifts with the direction between the termo-electrica, Hogar Raimondi and Kabryl.
- Walk the beach before rigging: the shorebreak on a swell day is a different sport from the day before, and the Quequen/Necochea tide table only tells you part of it.
- Stay well off the escolleras and the port/river mouth, especially cross-shore or on an outgoing tide.
- In December-February rig away from the guarded balneario sectors and keep lines well clear of bathers; there is no published kite zone to hide behind.
- Bring a real wetsuit outside midsummer: 11.4 C in winter and 19.3 C at best in summer.
- Plan the afternoon. The wind builds from around 09:00, the best hours sit between 14:00 and 17:00, and it drops away after 19:00.
- Guards are on the sand from mid-November to March, 9:00 to 20:00, and only in the named sectors. Ride outside that window and nobody is watching the water.

Mar del Plata Astor Piazzolla International Airport (MDQ), about 122-125 km from Necochea, is the nearest airport with commercial flights; Buenos Aires Jorge Newbery (AEP) and Ezeiza (EZE) are farther with more options.

November through March are the listed best months, with local instructors highlighting easterly wind in November, December and January specifically.
Is Necochea suitable for beginners?
Local schools teach beginners, but the open Atlantic surf, jetties and changing wind direction mean independent beginners should pick sheltered, flatter-water days rather than treat the whole coast as beginner-safe.
What is the wind like?
Southeast and southwest are cited as the best directions, with a local kite media report noting an easterly thermal of about 16 knots; gusty Pampero and Sudestada patterns can also occur.
Are there kite schools or rental?
