The Mamanucas off Nadi carry the bulk of it — Malolo Inner Reef's sheltered lagoon, Namotu's boat-supported wave sessions, Mana and Castaway islands — each a private-island bubble you commit to for the stay. Sigatoka anchors the mainland's Coral Coast with resort-backed lagoon launches, while Nananu-i-Ra, a 3.5 sq km island off the north Suncoast reached by taxi plus boat, is the country's dedicated wind-sports hub.

Trade winds run roughly April/May through October/November across the board, and picking an island here is picking your whole trip.

Where records disagree

  • US passport Fiji entry: one 2026 aggregator (atlys.com) states US citizens need an e-visa, while Fiji's own Ministry of Immigration messaging and general Western-passport visa-free framing (also echoed for UK/EU) implies visa-free arrival is the norm for most Western nationalities including the US - needs direct verification at immigration.gov.fj before relying on it.
