The wind here is made by the lagoon behind the beach heating up, not by a weather system. It fills in somewhere between one and two in the afternoon and runs until around half past seven, and that clock barely varies.

The main beach is open sea with chop, not flat water. People who travelled for the flat water in the videos ended up disappointed, because the flat spots are elsewhere on the island and do not get the same wind.

Wind strength varies noticeably along the beach - it is stronger up by the windmills at the north end, funnelled by the mountain behind, and the stretch in front of the windsurf zone is the one locals rate for flatter water and more pressure.
