Marmari (Kos)
Marmari is on the north coast of Kos, and the kite launch is east of the village at Golden Beach/Alykes, roughly 400 m past the main watersports station.
Mastichari
Mastichari sits on the north coast of Kos and the kite beach is the wide sand west of the village harbour.
Tigaki West Beach
Tigaki West Beach sits on the north coast of Kos, west of Kos Town, and the Meltemi arrives from the NW, running diagonally onto the sand.
Kefalos
This record is the Kohilari/Kochylari kite beach north of Kefalos, not the sheltered Kamari Bay resort beach below Kefalos village.

Kohilari is on the Kefalos side of Kos, north of Kefalos village and well away from the busiest resort beaches.
Psalidi
Psalidi is the wind corner of Kos, just outside Kos Town on the northeast side, where the Meltemi thermal funnels through the gap between the island and the Turkish coast and arrives stronger than at the other Kos beaches.

A hire car is not optional. Wind on Kos is a beach-by-beach lottery and the standard fix is to drive to the next one; people who stayed put reported flat days that others spent riding a few miles away.

Mastichari earns its reputation as the base rather than as the best beach: central on the island, laid back, big beach, and lessons that run off a rescue boat or with a kayak alongside. Repeat visitors keep coming back to it and say the water does not feel packed.

Wind is very localized around Kos - it can be howling at one beach while calm just a few miles away, so riders check multiple spots (Marmari, Kohilari, Mastichari, Tingaki, Psalidi) rather than trust a single forecast

Kos is the mild one in the Greek line-up. People who have done Paros, Naxos or Rhodes call it a 12m island and pack accordingly, and a few say plainly that it is not where they would go for a pure wind holiday.

Marmari is the windiest beach and also the most constrained one. Kiting was pushed off the wide swimming beach and down into a narrow strip roughly ten metres deep with trees behind it, which makes launching and landing fiddly when several people want the same patch.

Two of the island's named spots get quietly written off by people who have actually been. Psalidi is described as not really kitable - cross-offshore off a small stony beach - and the north-west beach near Theologos as all rocks with nowhere to launch.

The far west end of the island is the part that gets talked about with actual enthusiasm. Kohilari is a six-kilometre obstacle-free beach with small kicker waves; Kefalos next door is where people go fast, and being mostly offshore there is the reason it is smooth.

Summer Meltemi is the main wind season, with June to September as the main Aegean window and the biggest island-wide crowds.
Do you need a car?
A car or scooter is recommended - roads are mostly paved and in good condition, scooters rent from around EUR14/day, and a public KTEL bus network also covers the island.
Which spots suit which riders?
Mastichari is mainly a teaching and freeride bay with side-to-cross-on wind, Marmari is one of the windier options thanks to local Meltemi acceleration, and Psalidi near Kos Town benefits from a funnel effect that makes it one of the windiest spots on the island.
Where should I base myself?
Mastichari and Marmari are quiet north-coast fishing villages near the spots; Kos Town offers more restaurants and culture, and Kardamena has a livelier, bar-heavy nightlife scene, both a drive away.
