Dahab's two faces sit a short walk apart: the enclosed 300 x 500 m town lagoon that Harry Nass and 5 Squares use for lessons, and Assalah Beach's reef- and tide-dependent water for confident riders.
Both work March through November on mixed Gulf of Aqaba wind, but Assalah's offshore/cross-off flow and uncertain rescue rule out solo beginners.
