Kitesurfing in Brittany
16 spots · 4 destinations · 23 schools
Brittany's core is the Quiberon peninsula, split by tide and coastline: Sables Blancs and the Isthme de Penthièvre sit flat on the bay side, Sainte-Barbe and Kerhillio catch Atlantic swell on the ocean side.
Wind here is mixed, thermal layered on synoptic flow, and North Finistère adds Sainte-Marguerite, where La Bassine lagoon only floods two hours either side of high tide. Guidel's Plage de la Falaise, at the Laïta mouth, works best on summer west thermal.
Brittany holds 16 kitesurf spots in our atlas, grouped into 4 destinations. Riding here is mostly waves, lagoons and flat water. The season runs March to November.
6 of them suits beginners. 23 schools operate in the region. The busiest areas are Bretagne — Isthme de Penthievre to Petite Mer de Gavres, Bretagne — Baie de Lancieux to Plage du Sillon and La Torche (Bretagne).
