Kitesurfing in Inhambane Province
6 spots · 2 destinations · 6 schools
Six spots on the Inhambane coast, and Vilanculos is the only one that reads like an ordinary kite trip: warm shallow water over big tidal sandbanks, schools and lodge programmes behind it, 15-22 knots in season.
Tofo is a dive town first, with small waves in the bay, proper wave riding at Tofinho and flatter sandbank water at Praia da Barra. Ponta Zavora is remote. Nobody is watching that water, so come self-sufficient or not at all. Bazaruto's North Point and South Point are boat access only, inside a national park, and the tide runs the day there.
Inhambane Province holds 6 kitesurf spots in our atlas, grouped into 2 destinations. Something is rideable here in every month of the year. 4 of them suits beginners. 6 schools operate in the region. The busiest areas are Tofo and Vilanculos.
