Comporta
Comporta is a wide, low-key Alentejo beach town about 1.5 hours south of Lisbon on the edge of the Sado Estuary nature reserve, where a large shallow lagoon behind the beach's sandbar gives beginner-friendly flat water on W/NW thermal wind from May to October. The ocean side offers stronger, choppier riding for those wanting more than the sheltered lagoon.
