Ilot Maitre
A tiny reef-protected islet a 15-minute boat ride from Nouméa's Anse Vata, Îlot Maître is New Caledonia's signature kite spot: a shallow, mostly flat lagoon enclosed by a nearly 2km reef that stays rideable in winds up to 35 knots. It's the territory's premier all-level destination, with a beachfront snack bar and regular water-taxi service.
