At high tide the flat floods to standing depth over smooth sand and you can walk a long way out, which is the whole reason people drive here.As the tide falls the water pulls back and leaves sand formations, and the spot becomes impractical.The depth is also described the other way round, shallow at low tide and moderate at high with the spot rideable at any level; unconfirmed.

Tide runs the session. On the flood the shallow flat fills in and gives flat standing-depth water on sand; on the ebb the water retreats behind sand banks and the rideable area shrinks or disappears.It is also reported to work at any tide level, so confirm the day with whoever is driving you out. Neighbouring Speed Spot and Secret Spot are described the same way, high tide or nothing, though Secret Spot is also reported as knee- to waist-deep with little tidal effect.

No permanent kite centre.You arrive by road and sandy track from town, by 4x4 with a school, or as the end of a downwinder, and land on the sandy shore beside the oyster racks.Basic amenities exist by the farms - shade and somewhere to rinse gear - and the restaurant is the reason many people stay for lunch.Launch on the open sand well clear of the wooden frames.

- Ask your Dakhla school which spot they mean: Oyster Farm, Oyster Park/Talha Mar and Secret Spot are sometimes listed separately.
- Plan the session around high tide unless your guide confirms the flat works at any tide on the exact launch and route that day.
- Take a guided trip or a boat-supported downwinder if you are not fully independent on the lagoon.
- Pack booties if you are learning or walking the shallows; shell fragments are reported.
- Carry water, sun cover and a way back to town; facilities are basic next to the main lagoon kite centers.
- Stay off the oyster racks and baskets, and out of the way of the people working them.
- Ask your Dakhla school which spot they mean: Oyster Farm, Oyster Park/Talha Mar and Secret Spot are listed separately by several operators.
- Do not take shellfish home. The racks are a licensed production zone and the bay has been closed to harvesting as recently as May 2026.

Fly to Dakhla via Casablanca or Agadir, or on a seasonal European or Canary Islands route, then drive. The spot is put at roughly 28 km south of Dakhla town down the lagoon side, paved road first and then a sandy track, 35-40 minutes door to water; a normal car gets through in dry conditions and a 4x4 is the safer choice.Transport optionsKite schools run it as a day trip with transport, and it also works as the far end of a downwinder from the camps. The restaurant landmark is quoted at km 14-15 in other listings, which does not reconcile with the 28 km figure.

Most riders stay either in Dakhla town guesthouses/hotels and transfer to spots, or in all-inclusive lagoon kite camps around PK25/main lagoon; staying at a serviced lagoon camp is more practical if you want rescue, storage and beach assistance.

Only when supervised and when the shallow flat is flooded at high tide; it is not a serviced everyday teaching beach, and independent riders should already be comfortable with self-rescue.
