Sun Island (Nalaguraidhoo)
Sun Island Resort occupies the uninhabited island of Nalaguraidhoo in South Ari Atoll, one of the largest resort islands in the Maldives, run by Villa Hotels. It offers a Nautic/watersports station on the lagoon side of the island, giving riders wide open space to rig and launch away from swimmers, with the atoll's outer reef providing calmer water inside the house lagoon. The surrounding atoll is a year-round whale shark residency area, a big draw for combining kiting with marine wildlife trips.

| season notes | Maldives has two monsoons: the wet southwest monsoon (Hulhangu) runs end-April to end-October with the strongest, stormier winds; the dry northeast monsoon (Iruvai) runs December to March with lighter, drier, sunnier conditions. October-November is a transitional shoulder period. |

Monthly wind statistics
Station: Male, Maldives (Weather Spark, ~89.1 km) — No windfinder/windguru statistics page could be retrieved for this specific island (their monthly tables are JS-rendered and not accessible to static fetch; windfinder generic search only surfaces larger hub stations). Using Male / Velana Intl Airport as the only broadly-available regional proxy for the Maldives. Distance to Sun Island/Nalaguraidhoo is ~89 km (South Ari Atoll) - weak proxy, use with caution. The Maldives' two monsoon seasons (NE 'Iruvai' roughly Dec-Mar, SW 'Hulhangu' roughly May-Nov) are archipelago-wide, so the seasonal direction flip should be broadly representative, but local reef-pass channeling, atoll-side (ocean vs lagoon) exposure, and afternoon thermal boost are NOT captured by this regional-airport source. prob_ge_4bft_pct left null (not available from Weather Spark; only average wind speed is).
